My concerns are that I had previously thought this site was to acquire a GED, not to study for said GED.

I have studied for my GED and prepared for the last two months. I dropped out of high school to pursue my college career and to continue my life.

My question is, can I cancel or refund the payment that was made to the credit card in which I used to pay for?

Please contact the GED Academy at 1-800-460-8150 and a teacher can deactivate your account and give you a refund,  no problem.  One really important thing to know is that there is no way to take the GED test online, so make sure you don't register with any scam websites.  You can find a testing center near you at this link: http://www.passged.com/test_state.php  Good Luck!

To cancel your account, please contact us at studenthelp@essentialed.com or follow these instructions: 

  1. Enter your Homeroom.
  2. Click the “Profile” menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
  3. Select “Billing”.
  4. Click the Cancel Subscription button
  5. Follow the directions to confirm your cancellation.

If your cancellation is successful, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know your account has been cancelled.
