Sherman
We have compiled the emails we have received from people who have passed the GED. Here are some of these letters.

Dear Sherman,
My advice to people starting to get ready for the GED is to get a lot of practice with standardized tests that use multiple-choice questions. The biggest mistake I made, and probably why I didnÕt pass the test the first time, was that I was not used to taking these kinds of tests. I didnÕt plan the time well and ran out before I finished all the questions.

Dear Sherman,
Looking back at taking the GED, the smartest thing I did was doing an official practice test first. It helped me see what I needed to learn and what I already knew, and it helped me understand what the questions were like on the real test. I probably would not have passed the test the first time if I didnÕt take all those practice tests first.

Dear Sherman,
Read. Yeah, read lots of books. And write. The essay is not something I was very good at. I donÕt think I wrote anything like that in ten years. So, it was something I had to practice a lot for. It paid off though, now I have a better job and make $6 more an hour!

Dear Sherman,
Math was the killer for me. Too long since high school. I enrolled in a couple of GED classes at the Community College and that helped a lot. Then I did practice questions from some GED prep books. I ended up doing okay on the math, a score of 520.

Dear Sherman,
Get a smart girlfriend! Just kidding. Finding someone to help with the GED is what got me through it.

Dear Sherman,
Study dude. The first time I took the GED, I hardly looked at a book. Then I got serious and did the time with the books. I passed in the 86th percentile. Pretty good, huh?

Dear Sherman,
I couldnÕt have done it without you, bro. Just kidding. I guess my biggest advice to test takers is to treat the test seriously. ItÕs a b****.
