Hi, Niasia! You can get a copy of your New York GED (you had to be living in New York when you took it) from the State Department of Education. To get a copy by mail, go to this website to download the form, and follow the online instructions:
http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/ged/otherserv.shtml#request
If you have problems, contact: GED Testing Office P.O. Box 7348, Albany, New York 12224-0348 (518) 474-5906
You can also go to the office in Albany and visit the GED walk-up window. They're open short hours--non-holiday weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. It's at:
New York State Education Building Annex 89 Washington Avenue Albany, NY Go to the Hawk Street entrance.
Either way, the transcript costs $4 and a duplicate diploma costs $10. If you're visiting in person, you can download a form online to bring with you. All the walk-up window information is at: http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/ged/otherserv.shtml#visit

Hi! To get a copy of your Missouri GED transcript, you need to mail a request with a $2.00 fee to the Missouri GED office. (The graduation certificate plus a transcript costs $15.00.)
You can use the transcript request form here: http://dese.mo.gov/divcareered/documents/GED_Transcript_Request.pdf, or send a signed letter with your: name (when you tested), date of birth, social security number, the year and city you took the test (or as close as you remember), the address where you want the transcript sent, and your signature. The fee can be a check for a transcript only, but a money order is required for the graduation certificate. Your check or money order should be made out to: Treasurer, State of Missouri.
Mail your request and payment to: GED Office P.O. Box 480 Jefferson City, MO 65102
You can find complete information online at: http://dese.mo.gov/divcareered/ged_official_transcript.htm

The Texas GED office has information on getting your records at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/ged/records.html.
Most likely, what you need is an official transcript, also known as a GED certificate. To get it:
Fill in, print, and sign the form at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/ged/certreq.html
Mail the form, along with a $5.00 check or money order made out to TEA-GED, to: TEA--GED Unit PO BOX 13817 Austin, TX 78711
The transcript will take about three weeks to get to you. You can also request your transcript in person at the GED office in Austin if you make an appointment, or you can speed things up with overnight delivery. For more information, and in case you only need a score verification, check out the Texas GED records website at: http://www.tea.state.tx.us/ged/records.html

Hi! To get a copy of your Virginia GED, you can call the Department of Education's GED Database Administrator at 804-786-4642 or 1-800-292-3820. Or, you can use the form on the State of Virginia GED website that you can download and mail in with a check or money order. You can find it at: http://www.vaged.vcu.edu/faq.shtml#lostcert
(For people who may read this who are still in or near Virginia, you can also deliver the form in person in Richmond.) The addresses are on the form. It's US $5 for a transcript and US $10 for a duplicate certificate.
Hope this helps! Leonard

I got my G.E.D at Cassadaga Job Corps Center in Cassadaga, New York. I also obtained a NJ High School diploma because of my scores. I lost both, where do I get a duplicate of these? Can I get at the New York Department of Education? Any information will be appreciated! Thank you!!!

Elizabeth,
You should be able to get a copy of your original NY GED from the New York Department of Education. Get the forms and information you need at their website:
http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/ged/otherserv.shtml#request
Unfortunately, the state of New Jersey might not have your records. To find out about getting your New Jersey high school diploma, I'd call the New Jersey Department of Education at: My guess is, if they don't have the records to give you a duplicate diploma, you can reapply using the information at http://www.nj.gov/education/students/ged/ged11.htm. The best thing to do is call them to explain your specific situation and find out for sure.
